Service Description

Hyaluronidase is a soluble protein enzyme that is typically used to break down the hyaluronic acid found in dermal filler. The lip filler dissolving procedure begins with the application of numbing cream to dull the burning sensation (often likened to bee stings) that is often experienced. Following the numbing cream, hyaluronidase is then injected into the lips with a series of tiny injections to dissolve the lip fillers. Whilst hyaluronidase begins to work immediately, the full effects are seen at two weeks after the procedure, once the swelling fully resolves. The procedure itself is relatively quick, taking approximately 10 minutes to perform. Can someone with a bee sting allergy get hyaluronidase safely? ๐Ÿ Clients who experience complications with hyaluronic acid fillers can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. ๐Ÿ The risk of allergic reaction when stung by Bees, wasps and other yellow jacket insects is approximately 3% ๐Ÿ So why are we talking about bee stings again? Well, the venom is made up of multiple compounds, including hyaluronidase, which is used to dissolve dermal filler. ๐Ÿ 1 in 2000 people react to hyaluronidase!! ๐Ÿ™ˆ If you have ever experienced Anaphylaxis or a severe allergic reaction to an insect sting, make sure to INFORM our practitioner! You should consider whether this treatment is worth the risk of experiencing an allergic reaction, as hyaluronidase does have to be used to dissolve dermal filler. ๐Ÿ Please make sure your are honest when completing medical history documents
